Flushable Toilet Wet Wipes

Flushable toilet wet wipes are a product specifically designed for toilet use. ‌ is generally made of wood pulp, ‌ has a moderate humidity, ‌ is similar to a freshly wrung towel, and ‌ has a certain tenacity. ‌ The wipes are designed to provide a more thorough cleaning result than traditional toilet paper, ‌ is more effective at removing feces and menstrual blood, and ‌ has been dubbed 'the best keeper of the butt'. ‌ In addition, ‌ some flushable toilet wipes are made of flushable material, ‌ can be directly thrown into the toilet and dispersed after use, ‌ easy to clean, ‌ is also more environmentally friendly. ‌ The humidity and material selection of these wipes make them superior to traditional toilet paper in cleaning effect, ‌ provides a better experience and cleaning effect.

Sheet size

The most common size of flushable wipes is indeed around 5-6 inches by 7-8 inches (13-15 cm by 18-20 cm). This size is convenient for single-use and provides enough surface area to clean and freshen the external genital area, as well as other body parts. However, like with all types of wipes, some flushable wipes may be smaller or larger in size depending on the brand and the specific needs of the consumer.

Packing

1. Plastic resealable bag: Plastic resealable bags are the most common type of packaging for wet wipes.  They are usually made of a durable and flexible plastic material.  The resealable strip on top of the bag is designed to keep the wipes fresh and moist by preventing air from entering the package and drying out the wipes.

2. Flip-top lid container: This type of packaging usually consists of a plastic container that has a secure flip-top lid or a snap-on lid that can be opened and closed easily to access the wipes.

3. Soft pack with plastic flip-top lid: The soft pack is made of a flexible plastic material that is lightweight and portable, making it perfect for on-the-go use. The plastic flip-top lid on top of the pack is designed for easy access to the wipes, and it helps to keep the wipes moist and fresh in between uses.

4. Pop-up dispenser: The packaging usually consists of a plastic container with a spring-loaded dispensing mechanism that pushes the wipes up through an opening on top.  When the user opens the lid, the wipes are ready and within easy reach.

5. Travel pack: This type of packaging is small and compact, making it easy to fit in a pocket or handbag for on-the-go use. The packaging is usually made of a lightweight and flexible material that is easy to carry around.

6. Single-use packaging: Single-use packets usually contain one pre-moistened wipe and are lightweight, compact, and easy to carry around.  

7. Refill bag: The refill bag typically contains a large number of pre-moistened wipes, and the packaging usually has a resealable opening to keep the wipes fresh and moist between uses.  

Formulations

Flushable wipes are commonly formulated using a combination of water, cellulose fibers, and various additives, such as surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives, and fragrances. The cellulose fibers used in flushable wipes are typically derived from wood pulp, cotton, or other natural fibers that are biodegradable and able to break down in water. To ensure that flushable wipes are safe to flush and do not cause damage to plumbing and wastewater systems, they are designed to disperse and break down quickly when they come into contact with water. This is achieved through the use of specific types of fibers, as well as through the inclusion of dispersants and other additives that promote quick disintegration.

There are several standards and guidelines related to the flushability and safety of wipes, including:

INDA/EDANA Flushability Guidelines: These guidelines provide a set of tests and criteria for evaluating the flushability of wipes and ensuring they break down quickly in the sewer system.

ISO 22716: This international standard covers Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for the production, control, storage, and shipment of cosmetic products, including personal care wipes.

NSF International Standard 350: This standard provides a framework for testing and certifying products that claim to be flushable, biodegradable, and compostable.

EPA Safer Choice: This program helps consumers identify products that are safer for the environment and human health.  Wipes that meet the EPA Safer Choice criteria must meet certain environmental and human health standards.
